Visioning Care

Our workshops provide your staff an opportunity to unpick challenging workplace experiences and bring them to life in a fun, safe and non-judgemental space. Our highly trained theatre specialists create safe spaces for staff to share their skills, develop new ones and increase their confidence. Our Approach

Our training takes participants on a journey from real life to fiction and back again as we tap into the human need to tell stories. Using storytelling and theatre making techniques, we create a safe space to discuss real life problems in a fun and engaging way. We then harness the group's creativity and use it to support participants as they find personal strategies to address real-life challenges.

What People Are Saying

  • “This method allows people working in complex relational systems such as mental health teams to voice their deepest concerns and also to connect with their colleagues in a way which just wouldn’t be possible through ‘ordinary’ ways of interaction."

Jane Willdigg, Occupational Therapist, Newham Community Integrated Mental Health Services (CIMHS)

  • “Working alongside different disciplines, the doctors were, very much being seen as people, there wasn't a hierarchy, which there can be sometimes in healthcare.”

Ward Staff, East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT)

  • “What was most rewarding about the experience, for me, was the introduction of creativity and play into thinking about clinical work; something there often isn’t much space for, but something which has enormous potential value to enrich the work."

Psychologist, East London Foundation Trust (ELFT)

  • “I had anticipated feeling a bit nervous about acting and thought this might feel uncomfortable in a room full of colleagues I hardly knew. But the session was cleverly designed so that we were eased into it in a way that felt comfortable and real. The themes came directly from our real-life experiences at work, so it all felt very relevant and applicable to our day-to-day work.”

Trainee Psychologist, East London Foundation Trust (ELFT)

  • "Playing ON uses role play based approaches, to bring some of our challenging clinical experiences to life. It’s a safe and non-judgmental space to reflect, which can often be difficult to obtain in everyday practice.”

Inpatient Occupational Therapist, Newham Centre for Mental Health

  • "I liked how gentle the process was from start to finish. As a health professional, I felt the barriers of ‘them and us’ simply weren’t there due to the set up."

    Consultant Psychiatrist, Homerton Hospital

  • "The session gave us a space to be together in a creative and expressive context to work through complex issues, which we do not normally have time or energy to do. "

Ed Lander, Crisis Pathway & Specialist Teams Service Manager
